About

Picture
Dragonomy: Waiting for Dragons is a multi-layered fantasy told across time—part historical journal, part modern discovery, and wholly magical. When Emily Blackwell stumbles upon her late Suki Warren, an 18th-century explorer's, hidden journals inside the ancient halls of Sorell Hall, she unlocks a centuries-old legacy connected to a forgotten field of study: dragonomy—the secret science of dragons and those who once protected them. But what begins as curiosity quickly spirals into obsession as Emily discovers that the journal's writings speak not only of dragons, to her.

Through Suki’s voice, readers are swept across oceans, into forbidden sanctuaries, and through a heartache that still echoes through time. As Emily races to piece together what really happened—and what it means for her own destiny—she begins to suspect that dragons may not be gone after all. With rich worldbuilding, lyrical prose, and a slow-burning mystery, Dragonomy: Waiting for Dragons explores what it means to protect something ancient, and what it costs to keep believing in what others call myth.
Trigger Warning | Content Note:
This story includes brief references to the death of a parent, shared from the perspective of a young narrator. The loss is mentioned but not deeply explored or described in detail. Emily also uses light, modern slang and sarcasm (e.g., “kill me”) to express frustration—never intended to offend, but we understand language can hit differently depending on the reader.

Prologue

Approximately 10 Minutes
Dragonomy: Waiting for Dragons – Prologue From the journals of Suki Warren - Late 1700's | by L.Bogedin

In this haunting and lyrical prologue to Dragonomy: Waiting for Dragons, we meet Suki Warren—explorer, scholar, and the first voice to whisper the word dragonomy into history. As she begins to explain the mysterious field she spent her life uncovering, her journal shifts to a turning point: the moment she leaves her hopes behind. Worn, uncertain, and forever changed, Suki’s quiet departure marks the midpoint of a story still unfolding—one filled with myth, memory, and a truth too powerful to remain buried. This is not the beginning. This is not the end. This is the moment in between. Subscribe to follow the legacy of the Keepers, the dragons they protected, and the secrets they left behind.
